Life Story for
R. C. "Rink" Williams
Raymond C. (Rink) Williams died in his home in Hailey, Idaho on June 23, 2013. He was born March 30, 1929 in Wheatland, Wyoming.
Rink was active in the livestock industry for the last 62 years, he bought and sold sheep throughout the Western United States. For even more years he loved his horses. It is said he could ride before he could walk. Watching his horses win races was rinks favorite pastime. He graduated from Colorado State University in 1951.
His career started soon after when he was hired by Armour & Co., in South San Francisco, California. He was a partner with John Clay & Co.,centered in Ogden, Utah for several years. For the last 40 years his base locations were Phoenix, Az and Hailey, ID. Rink was on the Board of Directors of the Arizona Thoroughbred Breeders Association. He was a member of the National Wool Growers and Lamb Feeders Organizations.
On December 31, 1949 he married Phyllis Stewart. They raised their four children in Ogden, Utah.
Preceding Rink in death were his parents, Charles and Shirley Williams: his sister Barbara Burns: his two sons. Marc Williams and Stewart Williams. Surviving family are wife Phyllis, daughter Rebecca Larson (Marvin Larson) son Curtis Williams (Robyn Kino) seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; one nephew and one niece.
A memorial for Rink is planned for Saturday, July 20,2013 at the family home: 17 Deer Creek Road, Hailey, ID., from 3:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m.
