Lois Stocking

Lois Stocking, age 85, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on March 27, 2017. Lois was born on January 19, 1932 in Carey to Jean Foote and William Parley Mecham. She grew up in the Carey Valley, where she met and married her partner of 62 years, Boyd Stocking.

She is survived by her children Mont Stocking (LaVerne), Dale Stocking (June), Gale Patten (David), Glenda Egli (Sam), and Doug Stocking (Louise) and 63 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Stocking and her daughter, Jean Johnson.

Never one to want a fuss made on her behalf, Lois cared for every person she encountered like they were family. Her dining room table was host to a steady stream of friends and family—all who loved Lois for her kind heart and sweet sense of humor. An artist and a generous person at heart, Lois leaves us with her legacy through the warm and beautiful quilts she lovingly created for so many.
