Nadine Seal Ivie quietly passed away on August 10, 2024 in Twin Falls, Idaho. She was the daughter of Edward and Lucille Seal. Nadine was born at home on December 24, 1925 in Jerome County Idaho. She attended school in Hazelton, Idaho graduating as salutatorian of her class. Growing up on a small farm in Hazelton, Idaho, she was no stranger to hard work. She was very active in the local 4H Club taking courses in canning, cooking and raising livestock. Her award- winning canning skills won her a trip to the Kerr Canning Company in Chicago and a scholarship to the University of Idaho in Moscow.
Nadine married her sweetheart Joe in Ely Nevada on March 22, 1947 and they were later sealed in the Idaho Falls temple. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in several capacities. She and Joe served a two-year proselytizing mission for the Church in North Carolina before returning to their home near Bellevue, Idaho where they also served for seven years as temple workers two days a week in the Boise, Idaho temple. Nadine loved to host family gatherings and reunions cooking wonderful meals that included her famous chocolate cake and Zippy Punch. She was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to everyone and will be greatly missed by all.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, one brother Ray and one sister Joyce, her husband Joseph (Joe) Ivie, sons Edward and Joe Willis Ivie, grandsons Mark and Brian Ivie, granddaughter Melissa Ivie, granddaughter Mikaela Ivie and great-grandchildren Stacy Bigney and Porter Loughmiller.
She leaves behind her children Joy Worthington, Sue (Nick) Bigney, Bill (Connie) Ivie, Mike (Taryn) Ivie, Gary (Deb) Ivie, daughter-in-law Connie Ivie and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Following a viewing at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 19th, funeral services will be held in the LDS Hailey Ward Chapel at 821 Broadford Road in Hailey, Idaho. Interment will follow at the cemetery in Bellevue, Idaho.
