Life Story for
George Gilbert Martin Jr.
George G. Martin Jr., husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, was born in Seattle on Sept. 28, 1949, and died in an avalanche on Feb. 16, 2014.
He leaves behind the loves of his life, wife Lesley of Bellevue, Idaho; and his son, Chad, of Ketchum; a sister, Karen Ruby of Boise; and several nephews.
George and Lesley met in 1973, married in 1974. George started his real estate career shortly after—a salesman, manager, owner and broker for 39 years. He was a musician, and loved boating, fishing, skiing, hiking, motorcycling, camping, horseback riding, snowmobiling. George and Lesley always enjoyed these activities together and tried to live life to the fullest.
He had just started hunting with Chad a couple of years ago. His son cherished those times together and will be greatly missed. He was working for Debra Hall at Hallmark Idaho Properties and his latest learning curve was using a drone in his real estate career. He was passionate about technology, photography and always tried to be on the cutting edge.
A Celebration of Life will be held for him at the Senior Connection, 721 Third Ave. S., in Hailey on March 1 from 2-4 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for him and any donations can be made at any US Bank. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Blaine County Search and Rescue.
