Obituary for
Erik Lane Laughlin
Erik was born on August 3, 1962 in Denver, Colorado to Stanley and Sharon Laughlin and died of natural causes in Ketchum, Idaho on September 4, 2011.
He graduated from Pocatello High School in Pocatello, Idaho in 1980 and attended the University of Idaho and Idaho State University where he studied engineering and business. Erik worked at the CottonTree Inn and FedEx in Pocatello and was employed at the Kentwood Lodge in Ketchum, Idaho at the time of his death.
Erik enjoyed golfing, skiing and camping and hiking along Baker Creek and Redfish Lake. He is best remembered by his family for his participation in the “capital lawn croquet championships“.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Stanley Laughlin in 1998. He is survived by family members: mother, Sharon Laughlin, Westminster, Colorado; sister, Inga Laughlin Henderson; brother -in-law Mark Henderson; and two nieces, Krista and Megan Henderson of Westminster, Colorado. Erik had a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
His family held a celebration of Erik's life at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the Casino Club in Ketchum, Idaho.
