Keith was born February 18, 1925 in Carey, Idaho. He grew up in the Little Wood River Valley where he spent most of his life. When Keith was 17, he enlisted in the Navy. He spent four years serving his country in both the Atlantic and the Pacific Theaters. In 1946, Keith returned home to Carey where he went to work for his father, Owen Lavar Justesen, on Owen’s ranch. Keith and Bonnie were married soon after on September 8, 1946. They then took up residence in Salt Lake City, Utah where they welcomed their first child, Larry. After two years of city life, Keith and Bonnie returned home to Carey where they went back to farming and ranching. Keith farmed in Muldoon and the Little Wood River Valley until 1976 when they moved to Grandview, Idaho. After three years in Grandview, Keith ventured to the Middle East where he worked as an agricultural advisor to Saudi Royalty. Keith returned to Carey after three years abroad to manage the Carey Sport Shop where he had a profound effect on many peoples’ lives. Keith managed the Sport Shop for 13 years before retiring to become a full time Great Grandfather and golfing partner to his best friend Milt Bame. He and Milt spent many days touring the many local golf courses in southern Idaho. For Keith, golf was a passion second only to his family. Keith was the patriarch of a close and loving family who benefited from his and Bonnie’s example of love, compassion, hard work, and love of life! He touched the lives of more people than he knew and his family will forever remember the wonderful blessing he was in their lives.
Keith was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lavar Owen Justesen and Nellie Justesen, as well as his brothers Ray and Dallas Justesen.
