Jay Edward Jones
Jay Edward Jones was born on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1953. Jay was born 6th in line of Fern Jones’ 7 boys in Hailey. Jay passed away on June 12, 2013 in Twin Falls.
Jay’s life revolved around being outdoors as much as he could be. He spent many years as the Wood River Valley’s number one Ace Trapper. He was even asked by many of the Valley’s people who lived along the creeks and rivers to remove the beaver that flooded their property. Jay knew every hunter and fisherman in the valley and they all traded the ideas pertaining to both sports. He caught many fish and filled his freezer every year with game.
Jay worked for Blaine County Roads and Bridges for many years, then retired and moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, where he lived the last years of his life. Jay has many friends all over the country that thought of him almost like a brother.
Jay is survived by two brothers, Bill Jones and Lee Jones. He was preceded in death by his mother and four brothers.
A graveside service is scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the Hailey Cemetery.
