Jerry Broadie

October 21, 1940 — February 9, 2025

Jerry E Broadie passed away on February 9, 2025 in Boise, Id at Saint Alphonsus with his family at his side due to declining health issues over the past year. 

Jerry was born on October 21, 1940 to Ernest & Ada Broadie in Gannett, Idaho where he lived before the family moved to Hailey Idaho in the early 1950’s with his two sisters, Louise and Betty. He lost his father when he was 8 years old. 

He attended elementary school at Hailey Grade School and graduated in 1958 from Hailey High. In November 1958 he married his best friend Kathy Fry. In 1959 Jerry & Kathy moved to Bellevue, Idaho where they started their own little family, 1960 they welcomed Stacey, 1964 Kyle and 1969 they adopted Amy. In 1963 they started “Jerry’s Market” ran it for about 10 years. In the early 1970’s Jerry got into carpentry. 1977 he built a home for his family in Bellevue, Idaho. Early 1980’s he started “Broadie Construction” where he built custom homes and did custom cabinetry. 1997 he built a cabin in Challis, Idaho on the Salmon River for the family to enjoy. He taught a lot of people about the construction industry, worked hard and took pride in his carpentry until he retired in 2007. 

Jerry also enjoyed the outdoors. He took pride in hunting, fishing and taught his two sons the nature of the two sports. He was always by their sides whenever the boys went on their hunting and fishing adventures. He was a kind soul who made sure his family was taken care of and was always right in the middle of everything when it came to Everything. The Family is blessed with so many memories of camping, hunting and fishing trips. 

Jerry is survived by his wife Kathy of 67 years, two sons, Stacey, Kyle (Sherry), daughter Amy (Jeff). Very proud of his Grandkids, Zac Broadie (Emily), Jesse Broadie, Chelsea Broadie and Broadie Burrell (Bojana), 8 Great Grandkids. He is proceeded in death by his parents Ernest and Ada Broadie, two sisters, Louise Patterson, Betty Watson, a niece and a nephew.
