Obituary for
Christopher Roger Hooper
Christopher Roger Hooper passed away on Friday, November 11, 2011 at his home in Stanley, Idaho. Chris was born on May 9, 1941 to Douglas and Eileen Hooper in Oakland, California.
Chris graduated from Stanford University and went on to receive his law degree from the University of Idaho. He served five terms in the Idaho State House of Representatives beginning in 1978. Following law school and his time as a State legislator, he practiced law in Reno, Nevada.
Chris retired to Stanley in 2003, fulfilling a long desire to be able to spend time in a part of the country that he loved. During his years in Stanley he was an active supporter of the Stanley Community Library of which he was Board Chairman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his son Richard Hooper who was killed in the bombing of UN headquarters in Baghdad, Iraq. He is survived by his children, Drake Hooper and Jennifer Washington; grandchildren Ashley, Maya, Chris, and Kaylyn; his brother Stephen Douglas, and their families. He will be missed.
A memorial service is being planned for the Spring. Contributions in his name may be made to the Stanley Community Library.
