Life Story for
Lyle Ould Cyrus
Hailey, Idaho — Lyle O. Cyrus, 88, died on Sunday, January 20, 2013, of natural causes at St. Lukes Wood River Medical Center hospital where he was taken after a sudden illness.
He was born July 28, 1924 in Campbell County, Virginia, the son of Munford C. and Martha Jane (Reynolds) Cyrus.
Lyle lived in Virginia until 1952, then moved to Washington, Maryland and Massachusetts for his work for Trailways Transportation Bus Company as Maintenance Supervisor for the eastern US from Boston to Washington, D.C. In retirement, he lived in California City, California for thirty years. After retiring the first time, he worked as Supervisor of CSC Vehicle and Communications Towers maintenance for ten years at Edwards Air Force Base.
Lyle spent many years in Hailey after retiring the second time. He was veteran of WWII, serving with the U. S. Army.
Surviving family members include his wife Marie Cyrus of Hailey, his daughter Joanne Frank, six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and many surviving relatives throughout the United States. His son Reginald Lyle Cyrus preceded him in death. He was loved and will be missed.
A celebration of Lyle’s life is planned for a later date.
