Carmen June Stewart passed away at her home in Carey, Idaho on September 3, 2019 at the age of 85.
Carmen was born April 26, 1934 to Preston and Nellie Pyrah in Carey, Idaho. She married Morris G. Stewart in the Idaho Falls Temple on August 12, 1954.
Throughout her life, Carmen held several church callings including, Relief Society president, girls camp leader, scout den mother, and many more which she loved and served to the fullest. She and her late husband served missions in Nigeria and Chicago, Ill for the LDS Church.
Carmen touched the lives of everyone with whom she came in contact through her selfless acts of kindness, always putting others first. She loved picnics, playing games (Rook and Scrabble were her favorites), and eating homemade ice cream. Above all, she treasured time spent with family and friends.
Carmen was preceded in death by her husband, Morris G. Stewart. She is survived by her children, Jim (Cheri), Diane Hull, Perry (Lana), June Thelin (John), Rick (Michelle), Marie (Mark Crofts), Dixee, Julie, Paul (Raquel), twenty five grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren, brothers Grant Pyrah and Ted Pyrah, and sister Margaret Ward.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm, Friday September 13, 2019 at the Carey Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with visitation from 2-3:00 pm. Interment will follow in the Carey Cemetery.
