Life Story for
Mildred Mary Briggs
Mildred Mary McAllister Briggs born in Moorcroft, Wyoming on December 22, 1913, passed away March 27, 2016, at the age of 102. She passed peacefully Easter Sunday, surrounded by family.
As a young woman Mildred moved to Sheridan, Wyoming where she married Eugene Briggs in May of 1936 and raised two children; Vivian and Stuart. She spent several winters in Lake Havasu, Arizona and summers in Sheridan, Wyoming with her husband, Eugene passed away August 1994. In 2008 Mildred moved to Billings, Montana and lived with son, Stuart, and daughter-in-law, Pam Briggs, and in 2010 Mildred moved to Bellevue, Idaho to live with her daughter, Vivian, and son-in-law, Bill Bobbitt. While living in the Wood River Valley Mildred went to the Blaine County Senior Center and Senior Connection 5 days a week where she loved to go and had many friends there.
Mildred, a loving and wonderful mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother leaves behind her daughter Vivian and husband Bill Bobbitt; their two children: Michelle Bobbitt and Devin Bobbitt, his wife Sandra and their three children Brandon, Kailyn and Rylee; Mildred’s daughter-in-law Pam Briggs and her two sons Ben and Joe. Mildred was a strong woman. She was born premature at 4 lbs and survived Bright’s disease also known as nephritis as a child, both were said to have ended her life before her teenage years. Mildred enjoyed singing in the Presbyterian choir in Sheridan, bowling, golf, knitting, she was a member of the Sheridan Elks club and was a founding member of Youth Incorporated in Sheridan and was involved and volunteered for girl scouts and Akcita Win. A very friendly and welcoming person who touched many lives and made many friends where ever she may be, she was a bright light and always did everything to make the world and the lives of others better.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Ray and Vivian McAllister; her great Aunt and Grandfather who raised her, Nellie Smith and Charles Smith; her brother William McAllister; her two sisters Louis Thorne and Janet Crawford; her husband Eugene Briggs and her son Stuart Briggs.

Viewing will be from 2-6pm, Friday, April 1st and at 9am on Saturday, April 2nd at Wood River Chapel in Hailey. Services will be held at 10am, Saturday, April 2nd following the viewing. A luncheon at the Blaine County Senior Center will follow services. A memorial will be held in Sheridan, Wyoming over Memorial Day weekend.
