Life Story for
Mark Gregory Anderson
Mark “Sparky” Anderson, age 49, of Sun Valley, Idaho, passed away unexpectedly on April 2, 2014.
Mark was born March 1, 1965, and grew up in Tonka Bay, Minn. Mark moved 20 years ago to Sun Valley to pursue his passion for cooking and proudly served as head chef at Warm Springs Ranch Restaurant and most recently at the Grill at Knob Hill. Mark loved cooking, golfing, good friends and the outdoors. One of Mark’s greatest gifts was his sense of humor, which always brought laughter to any situation.
He is adored by so many and will be missed greatly. Sparky was part of a larger “restaurant family” where he will always be dearly remembered and loved as a kind, gentle, talented and powerful presence. People so liked working with him; his shoes will be hard to fill. We are sure he is enjoying a round of golf with his buddy Timmy on the big golf course in the sky.
Mark was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Hjelmer and Helen Anderson and maternal grandparents Donald and Elsie Kirkland. Mark is survived by his longtime partner, Vicki, and their dog; loving parents Ward and Linda Anderson; sisters Pam (John) Shaughnessy and Susan (Scott) Anderson; brother David (Nichole) Anderson; nieces Casey, Grace and Ella; nephews Eric, Jack and Luke; and many other relatives and good friends.
Memorials can be contributed in memory of Mark Anderson to The Animal Shelter of The Wood River Valley, P.O. Box 1496, Hailey, ID 83333. A celebration of Mark’s life will be held in Sun Valley, Idaho, in early June. An announcement of the celebration will appear two weeks before the event.
