Life Story for Rosalie Balis Harrison

Rosalie Balis Harrison
Rosalie Balis Harrison passed away suddenly at 1:32 A.M. on Saturday, December 30, 2017, at the young age of 68. She was camping in the Arizona desert with many of her family and friends.

Rosalie was born in the Fox building in uptown Hailey April 23, 1949 to Virgil Monk and Betty Marcelleno Balis. She grew up in Las Vegas and graduated from high school there. She met and married Don Anselmo, and worked with him at the Sprouse Right store in Needles, CA. They have two wonderful boys Tony Anselmo of Mohave Valley, AZ and Michael Anselmo of Boise, ID.

The marriage did not last and Rosalie moved back to Las Vegas where she worked for Marie Calendars. She met and married Skip Needham.

Shortly after her mother’s death the family moved back to Hailey, ID when Rosalie worked for Farmers Insurance. Rosalie and Skip opened the Pizza Barn together and were partners in the Mule Shoe Bar.

The family then moved to Blackfoot, ID where she worked for I.N.E.L for a time.

She moved back to Hailey, ID in 1989 where she stayed, working for North Woods Storage then Blaine Co. Sheriff Department, and later for the Blaine County School District food service for many years. She has managed the West Wood trailer park part time for over 25 years, even though she retired, she still managed the West Wood Mobil Home Park.

In 2000, Rosalie met Ron Harrison and they have been together 17 years.

She loved their cabin on the South Fork of the Boise River, where she snowmobiled, and rode ATV's. Her favorite pastime was quilting, where she made many beautiful quilts for her family and friends to cherish forever.

In the past few winters she spent most of the time in the Arizona desert with Ron, family and friends.
