Life Story for Raul Hunt

Raul Hunt
Raul Bernardo Hunt, 88, died Friday, May 26, 2017 at his home in Sun Valley, Idaho.

He was born September 20, 1928 in Santiago, Chile, the son of Franciso Hunt and Raquel Cossoro.

Raul married Sonia Berguno September 21, 1963 in Santiago.

In Chile, he was an Agriculture Engineer and later for the USAID with potatoes. He then became the Superintendent of Migrant Education in Nampa, Idaho.

Raul enjoyed travel, tennis, skiing, and music, playing the guitar, keyboard and singing in the Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church choir. He was very active in his support for the Hispanic and Latin immigrant communities, and as well as the Ketchum-Sun Valley Community Library, and translating for the court. He was an Honorary Consul of Chile in the U. S.

Raul was generous, full of life, warm, kind and hospitable man. Always thinking of others needs, empathetic, fun, and sweet. He didn’t have children of his own, but had dozens of kids that loved him. He had eight nephews and two nieces that loved him like a father. We will never forget you and for sure the world will not be the same without you in it.

A memorial service was held Thursday, June 8 at the Wood River Chapel. Cremation followed the services and he will be taken to Chile where will be laid to rest with his beloved wife Sonia.

Raul leaves behind his brother-in-law Sergio Berguno in Chile, Sister-in-law Isobel Honores Hunt in Chile; Nephews, Sergio E. Berguno in Arabic Emirates, Mauricio Berguno, Cristian Berguno in USA, David Berguno in Chile, Jorge Berguno in England, Francisco Berguno in Chile, Fernando Berguno in Iran, and Felipe Berguno in Australia; and Nieces Alejandra Berguno, and Paula Berguno both in Chile.
